Don Goff Innovative Instruction Award

Mr. Donald Goff, longtime educator, and former principal of George R. Stuart Elementary, passed away in July 2022. To honor his memory and legacy, the Don Goff Innovative Instruction Award has been established through the Bradley Cleveland Public Education Foundation.

Don Goff was the quintessential educator in preparing young students to be lifelong learners. His dedication and commitment to education on all levels were instrumental in building our community. The Don Goff Innovative Instruction Award will enable a Cleveland City Schools classroom teacher or teacher team to design innovative and creative instruction that focuses on The Portrait of a Graduate initiative to prepare students to be college, career, and life ready.

Don Goff served the Bradley-Cleveland community as a lifelong professional educator for four decades and finished his career as the long-serving principal of George R. Stuart Elementary School from 1990-2008.  During his tenure, Mr. Goff accentuated the characteristics of a true professional.  He made a positive impact on the lives of colleagues, students, families, and the community through his courteous, caring, and businesslike demeanor.  His life and service in the field of education was a true portrait of a professional.

The Don Goff Innovative Instruction Award, honoring his legacy, will be presented to a teacher or teacher team in Cleveland City Schools who design(s) an innovative and creative instructional project that focuses on The Portrait of a Graduate initiative that prepares students to be college, career, and life ready.

  • Application deadline: June 30, 2025 at 5:00pm
  • Project evaluation reports are due no later than May 15, 2026
  • Award notification: 2025-2026 School Year Opening Session
  • Thank you letters to the Committee: no later than December 31, 2025
  • Projects completed and purchases made: April 15, 2026
  • Reimbursement requests: May 1, 2026
  • Project evaluation report due: May 15, 2026
