Grant Recieved from the First Tennessee Community Development Fund

A First Tennessee Community Development Grant of $7000 was awarded to the Bradley Cleveland Public Education Foundation. Ms. Tracee Smith, (left) First Tennessee Bank Vice President and Manager of the Community Development Fund, and Mr. Michael Griffin, (right) President of First Tennessee Bank, Cleveland, Tennessee presented the check to Ms. Lynn Voelz, Executive Director of BCPEF (center).

The Partnership between First Tennessee Foundation and Bradley Cleveland Public Education Foundation began in 2005 and has been instrumental in building the solid foundation for public education in Cleveland and Bradley County Schools. Since 2011, the contributions from First Tennessee have been foundational to the annual cultivation and solicitation efforts of BCPEF.  They enabled the Foundation to generate substantial gifts from private individuals and organizations, ultimately funding hundreds of thousands of dollars in innovative academic programs and classroom-changing professional development for teachers. This gift through the First Tennessee Community Development Grant enables BCPEF to focus academic program support in schools serving those in the most severe poverty.

In appreciation of this gift, Ms. Voelz stated, “First Tennessee Foundation has graciously supported our endeavors to cultivate and encourage the continuing generosity of contributors, endorsing educational excellence in the classroom for over 12,000 students. Thus, the support from First Tennessee Bank and Foundation contributes to every award, program and teacher, resulting in a unique and significant impact on the education of local students.”
